Company History
The founding company from which Energen Solutions evolved has its beginnings in 1981 when it was established under the name Southside Engineering.
At the time, the company specialised in designing and manufacturing diesel generators, diesel pumps and hydraulic lighting towers. Today, these services continue to be provided by Energen Solutions' sister companies, SE Power and Allpower Generation.
In 1990, Southside Engineering successfully completed their first gas power generation project. This was followed closely by several similar projects in that decade including:
- Projects for the oil and gas industry (1993),
- Overseas contracts (such as those in Groote Eylant, Tonga, and PNG) (1995),
- An 8.6MW gas-fuelled power generation project (1996),
- 5 x 800kWe co-generation sets for a remote island resort (1997), and
- The start of gas power generation module manufacture for the DBNGP project in Western Australia (1999).
In 2003, the sister companies, SE Power Pty Ltd and Energen Solutions Pty Ltd were established, with Energen Solutions focussing on gas-to-energy solutions.
Notable projects undertaken since then include: a 6MW co-generation plant in Auckland, and a 1MW steam turbine running off macadamia nut shells, both in 2004.
In 2008 Energen Solutions commenced the implementation of a 4MW remote power station in the Northern Territory and began the chain of supply for 10.7MW of remote power generation for a pipeline project in Western Australia.
In 2009, Energen Solutions designed, manufactured and installed Australia’s largest operating CSM flaring facility.
