Sewerage and Digestor Gas Utilisation
Energen Solutions has an extensive portfolio of experience in sewerage and digestor gas utilisation projects.
Biogas, produced from a variety of waste products (e.g. from sewerage plants) is captured in covered lagoons or digestors.
These waste gases generally contain high levels of harmful by-products such as silicone and H2S.
They are often described as ‘sour’ gases because of the high concentration of dissolved sulphur compounds.
If the sulphur content in the gas exceeds a certain level, they become extremely corrosive and detrimental to down-stream equipment (such as reciprocating gas engines and gas microturbines).
In some cases, these gasses are also “saturated” with moisture, which further reduces the life of the equipment.
Energen Solutions has developed the gas scrubbing, conditioning and treatment technology required to convert these noxious gases into clean, dry gas, to protect down-stream equipment.
The gas-to-power solution
Energen Solutions has been involved in a number of alternative-fuel projects providing cost effective solutions for turning waste gases into profitable electricity for our clients.
